At the end of the year, there were 24,000 schools at different levels and of different kinds, 15.147 million students at school, and 1.021 million teaching and administrative staff (including 845,000 full-time teachers).
At the end of the year, there were 6,487 primary schools, with 935,000 students enrolled, 5.417 million students at school and an enrollment rate for children at primary school age of 99.7%; 3,864 middle schools, with 807,000 students enrolled and 2.464 million students at school; 124 special schools, with 2,398 students enrolled and 12,000 students at school; 726 ordinary high schools, with 490,000 students enrolled and 1.471 million students at school; and 550 secondary vocational schools, with 441,000 students enrolled and 1.108 million students at school. Additionally, there were 4,591 vocational-technical training institutions with 2.721 million person-times of students registered for vocational-technical training.
At the end of the year, there were 109 ordinary colleges and universities, where the enrolled ordinary undergraduates (college students) were 437,000 persons, up by 6.7%; undergraduate students were 1.388 million persons, up by 4.5%; graduates were 362,000 persons, up by 6.8%. There were 38 postgraduate cultivating units, with 29,000 students enrolled, 90,000 postgraduate students and 25,000 graduates. There were 15 adult higher education institutions, 404,000 adult undergraduates (college students) and 622,000 person-times for academic education self-study examination.
In the full year, high-tech industries achieved a total output value of RMB1,350 billion, a year-on-year increase of 10.4%. Wherein, industries above designated size achieved a total output value of RMB1,150 billion. At the end of the year, there were 13 Sichuan key laboratories at national level, 280 key laboratories at provincial and ministerial levels, 16 engineering and technological research centers at national level and 152 engineering and technological research centers at provincial level. In the whole province, there were 27 academicians of Chinese Academy of Sciences and 35 academicians of Chinese Academy of Engineering. In the year, 110,746 patents (including 40,437 patents for invention) were applied and 64,953 patents (including 9,105 patents for invention) were granted in the whole province. Administrative organs registered, disposed and recorded 896 patent cases and heard and settled 891 cases, achieving a case settlement rate of 99.4%. Besides, 10,109 patent projects were achieved and the patent pledge financing amount was RMB2.04 billion.
After identification, at the end of the year, there were 2,707 high-tech enterprises; nine national agricultural science and technology parks; 26 national innovative (pilot) enterprises, including 14 innovative enterprises and 12 innovative pilot enterprises; 1,623 provincial innovative enterprises, including 490 pilot enterprises and 1,107 cultivating enterprises; and 30 major industrial technology innovation alliances, including two national pilot alliances, one national key cultivating alliance and seven national filing alliances. In the full year, 11,262 technology contracts were registered and a turnover amount of RMB29.58 billion was achieved. There were also 2,303 provincial scientific and technological achievements completed.
