As calculated according to 2015 national 1% population sample survey data, annual newly-born population was 840,000 persons, achieving a population birth rate of 10.3‰; annual dead population was 566,000 persons, achieving a population death rate of 6.94‰; and the natural population growth rate was 3.36‰. At the end of the year, there was a permanent resident population of 82.04 million, a year-on-year increase of 638,000 persons. Wherein, there was an urban population of 39.125 million and a rural population of 42.915 million. The urbanization rate was 47.69%, a year-on-year increase of 1.39 percent points.
