CIIE invites you to start from Chengdu. From June 29 to 30,
2020, the Launching Ceremony of the Third China International Import Expo
(CIIE) Investment Roadshows and the First Investment Roadshow were successfully
held in Chengdu.
On the evening of June 29, the Launching Ceremony of the Third
CIIE Investment Roadshows, sponsored by China International Import Expo Bureau,
Sichuan Provincial Department of Commerce, and Chengdu Municipal People's
Government, and undertaken by Chengdu Municipal Bureau of Commerce and Sichuan
Branch of Bank of China, was held in Shuixiu Square, Forte Financial Island,
Chengdu. Sun Chenghai, deputy director of China
International Import Expo Bureau, Liu Xin, director-general of Sichuan
Provincial Department of Commerce, Fu Yan, special commissioner of the Ministry
of Commerce in Chengdu, Liu Xiaoliu, vice mayor of Chengdu Municipal People's
Government, and Ge Chunyao, president of Sichuan Branch of Bank of China,
attended the event and delivered speeches.

Xin, director-general of Sichuan Provincial Department of Commerce, said in his
speech that the first investment roadshow of the third CIIE was held in
Chengdu, Sichuan, which fully reflects the concern and favor of the Ministry of
Commerce and China International Import Expo Bureau for Sichuan. The CPC
Sichuan Provincial Committee and the People's Government of Sichuan Province
attach great importance to CIIE and regard it as an important opportunity for
Sichuan to expand consumption and promote opening-up and cooperation. The
principal leaders of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and the People's
Government of Sichuan Province led delegations and organized over 6,000
purchasers and 14,000 people to attend the first and second CIIE in Shanghai.
With a population of more than 91 million, Sichuan boasts huge consumption
potential and development resilience. At present, Sichuan is accelerating the
construction of the "10+3" modern agriculture system, "5+1"
modern industry system and "4+6" modern service system, and building
Chengdu into an international consumer center. The important strategic
opportunities in the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle will
release more new demands for consumption, investment and industrial
development. In the next step, Sichuan will make full use of the international
platform of CIIE and participate in the event more actively and deeply to seek
excellence and perfection. It will organize purchasers with high quality, hold
supporting activities with high standards, carry out trade matchmaking
activities at high levels, actively embrace and enlarge the spillover effect of
CIIE, and make contributions to a better CIIE.

Bureau, said in his speech that Sichuan is the contact area for the Ministry of
Commerce to tackle poverty alleviation, and Chengdu is an important hub city in
Western China. The launch ceremony of CIIE Investment Roadshows was held in
Chengdu, Sichuan, which not only reflects the joint efforts to achieve poverty
alleviation, but also facilitates the high-level opening and high-quality
development of Sichuan. He hoped that all parties will actively participate in
CIIE and share the opportunities brought by the event. Fu Yan, special
commissioner of the Ministry of Commerce in Chengdu, said in her speech that
CIIE will provide opportunities for Sichuan to realize leapfrog development,
and the Special Commissioner's Office of the Ministry of Commerce in Chengdu
will support Sichuan enterprises to participate in the event. Liu Xiaoliu, vice
mayor of Chengdu Municipal People's Government, said in her speech that Chengdu
is building itself into an international consumer center, and it will organize
more excellent enterprises to "Buy from the World and Sell to the
World". Ge Chunyao, president of Sichuan Branch of Bank of China, said in
his speech on behalf of the supporting units of CIIE Investment Roadshows that
the Bank of China will give full play to its advantages in globalization,
integration and cross-border finance, and fully support the third CIIE.
A review video of the second CIIE Investment
Roadshows was played at the ceremony. At about 9:00 p.m., 22 landmark buildings
in Chengdu, including Global Center, 339 TV Tower, Tianfu Long Scroll of
Jinjiang Greenway, Sichuan Provincial Library, Raffles, Marriott Hotel, and
Chengdu Jinniu Wanda Plaza, staged a light show. "New Era, Shared
Future", "Buy from the World, Sell to the World, Benefit the
World", "Welcome to CIIE", "Happy Life in Chengdu" and
other elements of CIIE and Sichuan appeared together. While lighting up the
nightlife in Chengdu, it also marked the launch of the third CIIE Investment
Roadshows.
In the morning of June 30, in order to further expand the
investment attraction of CIIE, the first Investment Roadshow of the third CIIE,
sponsored by China International Import Expo Bureau and Sichuan Provincial
Department of Commerce, co-sponsored by Chengdu Municipal Bureau of Commerce,
and supported by Sichuan Branch of Bank of China and Sichuan Commerce
Development Center, was held in Chengdu Century City New International
Convention & Exhibition Center.
This roadshow was mainly held for purchasers of the food and
agricultural products exhibition area and the automobile exhibition area,
introducing the basic situation of CIIE, the preparation of the third CIIE, registration
methods of purchasers, as well as information about the two exhibition areas
and key exhibitors. Dole Group, an exhibitor in the food and agricultural
products exhibition area, and Volvo, an exhibitor in the automobile exhibition
area, respectively introduced their participation plans. Sichuan Branch of Bank
of China introduced financial support services on behalf of the supporting
units of CIIE Investment Roadshows. At the end of the roadshow, the
participants exchanged their views with each other. The roadshow also
introduced the organization plan of cultural exchange activities of the third
CIIE. Participating enterprises expressed that they will make full use of the
important platforms for international procurement, investment promotion, people-to-people
exchanges and opening-up and cooperation provided by CIIE, learn advanced
technologies, purchase high-quality commodities, exchange with global cultures,
and improve their own supply chain and industrial chain systems, so as to
continuously enhance their market competitiveness and influence.
