On the afternoon of December 30, the launch ceremony of the
"2022 Sichuan Spring Festival Shopping Month and Chengdu Spring Festival
Shopping Spree", sponsored by the Sichuan Provincial Department of
Commerce and the Chengdu Municipal People's Government, was held in Chengdu.
Zeng Qing, Director of the Sichuan Provincial Department of Commerce, attended
the ceremony and delivered a speech.
In his speech, Director Zeng Qing pointed out that the
"2022 Sichuan Spring Festival Shopping Month" event, under the joint
efforts of the provincial and municipal governments and enterprises in Sichuan,
will present more than 60 sales promotion activities, such as the Online New
Year's Shopping Festival, the Chengdu Spring Festival Shopping Spree, the New
Year's Shopping Festival and the Panda Food Festival. These events will inject
new vitality into the province's consumer market during the New Year's Day and
Spring Festival. In 2022, the Sichuan Provincial Department of Commerce will
implement the deployment requirements of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee,
the Sichuan Provincial People's Government and the Ministry of Commerce
(MOFCOM) to convene the province's first consumption promotion conference at a
high standard and hold the First China (Sichuan) International Panda Shopping
Festival. The department will continue to apply and enrich the consumption
promotion policies and provide full support for market players, thus
facilitating the sustained recovery of consumption. All-around consumption
promotion projects will be conducted to support regions with suitable
conditions to build featured consumption clusters and develop the night-time
economy and first-store economy. By earnestly implementing the construction
plan for the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle, the department will strengthen
its cooperation with Chongqing to help build Chengdu into an international consumption
center and nine cities, including Mianyang, Nanchong and Neijiang, into
regional consumption centers, and take faster steps to establish international
consumption destinations with the Sichuan characteristics. Chances will be
given to an increasing number of enterprises for them to go global and actively
participate in China International Import Expo (CIIE), China Import and Export
Fair (Canton Fair), China International Consumer Products Expo and other
nationally renowned exhibitions. It is hoped that the brand influence of
Sichuan's products and their share in the markets outside Sichuan can be raised
through these platforms.
Liu Xiaoliu, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Chengdu
Municipal Committee, Fu Yan, Special Commissioner of the MOFCOM in Chengdu,
Peng Heliang, Deputy Director of the Chongqing Municipal Commission of
Commerce, Liu Xiangchao, First-level Inspector of the Sichuan Provincial
Department of Commerce, attended the launch ceremony. Other participants at the
ceremony included the heads of the relevant departments directly under Chengdu
and of the commercial departments of Mianyang, Nanchong and Neijiang, directors
of the relevant divisions and offices of the commerce departments, and key
enterprises in the consumer industry.
