As a key state-owned large-size liquor maker, Luzhou Laojiao Co., Ltd. (“the Company”) was founded on the basis of 36 old liquor workshops dating from the Ming and Qing dynasties. It is the origin of Chinese strong-flavor liquor. The liquor “Luzhou Laojiao” won the gold award at the 1915 Panama Pacific International Exposition, and was included in the first session of “China Top 4 Liquors” in 1952. It is the only strong-flavor liquor that has been included in all the sessions of “China Famous Liquors”.
The Company owns the oldest cultural heritage of China’s liquor industry——“dual national treasures”. The “National Treasure-1573 Cellar Group” dating from the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty was approved as the first “National Key Protected Cultural Relic Site” of China’s liquor industry by the State Council in November 1996. In March 2013, 1,619 cellars with a history longer than 100 years, 16 old liquor workshops and 3 natural caves for liquor storage were also approved as “National Key Protected Cultural Relic Site”. These largest, most diverse and best-protected “active cultural relics of liquor making” have been in continuous service up to now and included in the List of World Heritage Candidates in China. The “Luzhou Laojiao’s Traditional Liquor-making Technology” was included in the first Directory of National Intangible Cultural Heritages in May 2006.
The Company is dedicated to making organic liquor, advocating healthy life and “making the quality of Chinese liquors visible”. It has established a pyramidal brand structure comprised of 5 strategic products. The spire is the super-high-end brand of Chinese liquor——“Guojiao 1573”. The middle body is constituted by the preferred brands for business and banquets——“Bainian Luzhou Laojiao-Jiaoling Liquor” and “Luzhou Laojiao Tequ”. The footing is constituted by the brands oriented to mass markets——“Luzhou Laojiao Touqu” and “Luzhou Laojiao Erqu”. Furthermore, the Company is actively developing health care liquors and pre-mixed liquors, and conducting the business of liquor customization directed to consumer demands.
“Make liquors in a harmonious way” is the Company’s corporate philosophy. Based on wholehearted devotion to liquor making, Luzhou Laojiao’s staff are struggling to take the lead in market share, integrate governance, brand culture, quality, technology and human resource, and pursue “all people share a happy life edified by Chinese spirits culture of great splendor”.
At present, the Company’s products are exported to many countries and regions such as Hong Kong, Macao, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Burma, Laos, Cambodia, Viet Nam, the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Dubai, the UK, Germany, Angola, Uganda, Congo and Russia.
