At the end of the year, there were 52 art performance troupes, 45 art centers, 207 cultural centers, 4,579 cultural stations and 203 public libraries within the cultural system of Sichuan Province. In addition, there were 15 national cultural industry demonstration bases and 55 provincial cultural industry demonstration bases.
At the end of the year, there were a total of 222 museums, 174 cultural relics protection and management institutions, 230 national key cultural relics protection units, 969 provincial cultural relics protection units and 6,400 city-level and county-level cultural relics protection units. Museums and memorial halls across the province had received visitors for 27 million person-times in the whole year. There were 139 cultural heritages included in national intangible cultural heritage list and 522 included in provincial intangible cultural heritage list.
At the end of the year, there was one wireless radio station, one television station, 165 broadcasting and TV stations and 36 medium-and short-wave transmitting and relay stations. The comprehensive coverage rates of radio broadcasting and television reached 97.1% and 98.3%, respectively. There were 14.98 million cable TV subscribers.
In the whole year, there were 137 kinds of local newspapers published with a total volume of 1.6 billion copies; 353 kinds of periodicals published with 58.66 million volumes; 10,379 kinds of books with a total volume of 217.38 million books; 135 kinds of audio-visual products; and 422 kinds of electronic publications. There were 247 archives, including 204 national comprehensive archives which had made 5.998 million volumes of archives of different kinds public throughout the year.
At the end of the year, there were 80,029 medical and health institutions, including 1,940 hospitals (1,205 private hospitals) and 76,208 basic medical and health institutions; and 489,000 beds and 473,000 health workers (including 149,000 medical practitioners, 33,000 assistant medical practitioners and 191,000 registered nurses) in those medical and health institutions. There were 201 maternity and child care institutions, with 5,000 medical practitioners and assistant medical practitioners and 8,000 registered nurses; and 4,508 health clinics in towns and townships, with 33,000 medical practitioners and assistant medical practitioners and 23,000 registered nurses.
In the whole year, medical institutions had diagnosed and treated patients for 446.122 million person-times, including 159.916 million person-times by hospitals (24.581 million person-times by private hospitals) and 271.581 million person-times by basic medical institutions. A total of 15.429 million patients were discharged from hospital, including 10.402 million patients discharged from hospitals (2.299 million patients discharged from private hospitals) and 4.523 million patients discharged from basic medical institutions. The hospitalization rate in county region reached 90.2%.
In the whole year, there were eight newly-increased provincial hygiene cities (counties); and the tap-water penetration rate and sanitary toilet penetration rate in rural areas increased by 3.5% and 3.0% on a year-on-year basis, respectively.
The New Rural Cooperative Medical Care System covered all counties (cities or districts) involving in agriculture. Actual compensation proportion for hospitalization expenses was increased to 63.5%. Basic medical and health institutions achieved an online procurement rate of 100% for essential drugs. The reported morbidity of notifiable diseases had been lower than national average level in consecutive nine years. Maternal mortality rate, infant mortality rate and under 5 mortality rate continued decreasing and respectively reduced to 21.68/100,000, 7.8‰ and 8.92‰.
In the whole year, excellent athlete teams from Sichuan Province had won 10 gold medals, nine silver medals and seven copper medals in world-class competitions; 11 gold medals, five silver medals and two copper medals in Asian-level competitions; and 19 gold medals, 24 silver medals and 26 copper medals in national competitions. Annual sales of sports lottery reached RMB4.54 billion, up by 12.8%; and the raised public welfare funds amounted to RMB1.28 billion. At the end of the year, there 15 national high-level reserve talent bases, 21 provincial high-level reserve talent bases, 28 municipal (county-level) key amateur training units; and 265 national youth sports clubs. There were a total of 9,167 national fitness paths, including 1,081 newly established in that year. The “ten actions benefiting the people” in sports were implemented and 6,452 peasant physical exercise projects were newly constructed.
