Neijiang Economic and Technological Development Zone (referred to as "Neijiang Development Zone" or the "zone"), one of the first provincial development zones in Sichuan, was approved in July 1992 and upgraded to a national economic and technological development zone in November 2013. Located at the geometric center of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle, Neijiang Development Zone now covers 78.5 square kilometers. It has earned numerous accolades, including National Green Demonstration Park, National Demonstration Base for New Industrialization, National Science and Technology Business Incubator, China Automobile (Motorcycle) Parts Manufacturing Base, Sichuan-Southeast Asia Industrial Cooperation Park, and Sichuan Characteristic High-tech Industrialization Base. In the 2023 evaluation for national economic development zones by the Ministry of Commerce, Neijiang Development Zone ranked 44th nationally, 5th in western China, and 2nd in Sichuan.

Neijiang, a national regional transportation hub and gateway of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, is surrounded by 6 airports, 4 ports, 15 expressways, and 11 railways. It has achieved full regional high-speed rail access and integration into the Chengdu-Chongqing half-hour economic circle. The highway network enables product delivery to any city in southwest China within 8 hours. The "Chengdu-Europe Plus" ASEAN Express and China-Laos international trains operate regularly, offering direct freight services to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Yangtze River Delta, and Beibu Gulf Economic Zone within 24 hours.

The zone exhibits unlimited potential for industrial agglomeration. Neijiang Development Zone focuses on industry-based and project-oriented development, leveraging high-quality resources and comprehensive advantages to foster new quality productive forces. It has formed a "4+1" modern industrial system encompassing electronics, equipment manufacturing, food and medicine, energy materials, and modern services. As a key emerging industry, the electronics sector focuses on new photoelectric displays, intelligent terminals, electronic components, and information technology. It has attracted renowned enterprises like Ferrotec, Zhongxian Intelligence, Ju Teng International, XLY Technology, and INTELLIGENT, accelerating the development of the Chengdu-Chongqing Electronics Industry Supporting Base and Western China Photoelectric Display Material Production Base. As a traditional strength, equipment manufacturing is mainly advanced through advantageous products, such as petroleum machinery, electrical machinery, electric forklifts, electrical equipment, engine crankshafts, and logistics equipment. The zone has gathered leading enterprises like Jinhong Crankshaft, Phoenix Group, GESM WESFORK, Riqian Logistics, and Huachuan Group, enhancing the reputation of the China Automobile (Motorcycle) Parts Manufacturing Base. Food and medicine are leading industries characterized by both tradition and innovation. The zone actively develops high-end beverages and Sichuan flavor seasonings, covering functional drinks, fruit and vegetable beverages, and beer. It has attracted renowned brands and enterprises like Red Bull beverages of TCP Group, China Resources Snow Breweries, Huiyuan Group, Zijiang Holdings, CP Group, Sunrise Group, and Jiziyuan, supporting the development of "China's City of Confectionary" and "Sichuan-Chongqing Confectionary + Industrial Park." Regarding biomedicine, the zone has developed competitive products like anti-cancer drugs, active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), TCM decoction pieces, and veterinary drugs, gathering leaders like Huiyu Pharmaceuticals, ZI TONG GONG, and Healton Animal Health (including two listed enterprises). It has made every effort to build a Chengdu-Chongqing Biomedical Industrial Park and Chengdu-Chongqing Green API Production Base. As an emerging pillar industry, energy materials are primarily developed in areas such as power semiconductor ceramic substrates, silicon-carbon anode materials, and all-vanadium redox flow energy storage demonstration stations. Led by companies like Ferrotec Technology and Epuno Technology, the zone is striving to build the Western China Power Semiconductor Industrial Park and the Chengdu-Chongqing New Material Industrial Park. The modern service industry encompasses modern logistics, e-commerce, information technology, and exhibition services, among other emerging sectors. It aggregates renowned enterprises such as China Postal Express &Logistics, Suning Logistics, Hawei Supply Chain, Tongfu Logistics, Yufeng Logistics, Red Star Macalline, and OUTLET, forming several distinctive clusters for production and living services.

The elements of "eight accesses and one leveling" are guaranteed. The zone is scientifically and rationally planned, offering ample space to accommodate the investment and settlement needs of enterprises at any time. The zone is equipped with electricity, gas, and water supply facilities, ensuring sufficient supply and favorable pricing. The 100 MW/400 MWh all-vanadium redox flow energy storage station under construction provides peak shaving, frequency modulation, and emergency standby functions. A centralized gas supply station with an annual output of 800,000 tons of industrial steam has been established, offering steam prices significantly lower than those in coastal areas and surrounding cities.

It boasts a first-class business environment. Neijiang Development Zone has issued a series of preferential policies and innovative mechanisms such as the "chief service officer" for investment projects, aiming to create the best business environment that can be duplicated across the province. Additionally, it has established the Provincial Demonstration Government Service Center for Industrial Parks and earned the title of Advanced Unit in Sichuan Province for Optimizing the Business Environment and Safeguarding Legal Rights and Interests of Non-local Enterprises, pioneering in providing one-stop services for quality infrastructure across the province. It has also built the first public legal service studio within enterprises in the province.
