Located in western Guangyuan City, Guangyuan Economic and Technological Development Zone (referred to as "Guangyuan Development Zone" or the "zone") governs 1 town, 3 sub-districts, and 33 villages (communities), covering a direct construction area of 112 square kilometers with a population exceeding 110,000.
Established in 1992, Guangyuan Development Zone was elevated to a national zone in December 2012. It has been recognized as China's Green Aluminum City, National High-tech Industrialization Base for Electronic Products and Supporting Materials, National New Industrialization (Military-Civilian Integration) Industry Demonstration Base, National Circular Transformation Demonstration Zone, National Green Industrial Park, Sichuan Intellectual Property Pilot Park, Sichuan (Guangyuan) Military-Civilian Integration High-tech Industrialization Base, National Famous Brand Creation Demonstration Zone for High-performance Industrial Aluminum, and National Aluminum Magnesium Electrolysis Equipment Industrialization Experimental Base.
In recent years, Guangyuan Economic and Technological Development Zone has implemented the "1345" development strategy of the CPC Guangyuan Municipal Committee, focusing on becoming the city's growth pole and the primary front of the industrial economy and aiming to create an RMB 100-billion-level industrial park and a demonstration zone for city-industry integration. It pursues the mutual growth and integration between urban development and industrial revitalization, committed to optimizing the "1+3+1" industrial system and prioritizing industrial development, project investment, and investment attraction. It also deeply implements the five plans for aluminum industry transformation, food and beverage industry expansion, electronic machinery industry upgrading, biomedical industry agglomeration, and the multiplication of emerging industries, accelerating the construction of a demonstration zone for city-industry integration.
