(1) Breakthroughs are achieved in both online transaction volume and retail sales In 2021, Sichuan's online transaction volume surpassed RMB 4 trillion for the first time as that figure hit RMB 4.07 trillion, increasing by 13% year-on-year, 2.2 percentage points higher than the country's growth rate. Specifically, the online retail sales exceeded RMB 700 billion for the first time after the figure recorded RMB 706.7 billion, up 20.2% year-on-year, 4.5 percentage points higher than the country's growth rate. The average growth in two years was 15.4%.

(2) Sales in food, tourism and catering industries make up a majority part The online retail sales of food, online travel, online catering and life services reached RMB 111.92 billion, RMB 99.41 billion and RMB 92.1 billion, respectively, accounting for 15.8%, 14.1% and 13% of the country's total online retail sales.

(3) Sichuan is the top province in West China in the number of online merchants in rural areas and the sales volume of fruits The number of online merchants in rural areas of Sichuan was 622,000, up 24.7% year-on-year; thus, the province ranked No.7 in China and No.1 in West China in this regard. The online retail sales of agricultural products reached RMB 38.57 billion, up 26.8% year-on-year, 0.5 percentage points higher than the country's growth rate.

(4) The sales volume of "Sichuan liquor" is the largest in China, "Sichuan medications" witness the highest growth, and Sichuan's food industry is the most competitive The online retail sales of products manufactured in Sichuan amounted to RMB 530.25 billion, up 18.0% year-on-year, accounting for 75% of the country's total. Specifically, the online sales of Sichuan liquor", "Sichuan tea", "Sichuan cuisine (Sichuan seasoning)", "Sichuan's Chinese time-honored brands", and "Sichuan's medical and health products" reached RMB 46.29 billion, RMB 12.68 billion, RMB 5.38 billion, RMB 36.18 billion and RMB 4.04 billion, respectively, with the year-on-year growth rates hitting 17.2%, 23.0%, 21%, 18.1% and 39.7%. With the online retail sales in the food industry accounting for 6.6% of the country's total, Sichuan ranked 4th in China after Guangdong, Shanghai and Zhejiang.
