　　Traditional lanterns with new ideas--Zigong Lantern Exhibition becomes the best scenic spot in Houston

　　Do you remember the lantern of "The Tree of Life" that went popular online at the beginning of 2021 after showing up at the Zigong Lantern Exhibition? "The Tree of Life" has magnificent colors and a dreamlike shape. Its picture was displayed on the 2021 CIFTIS, attracting much attention.

　　Creative shapes and various colors are successful attempts of Zigong lanterns. At the CIFTIS site, more creative ideas emerged.

　　A bicycle was placed in front of a large globe made of colorful lanterns. The globe would become bright as the visitors pushed the pedals, which conveys the environmental protection concept of caring for the earth. After the carousels, Ferris wheels, turbo drops and other recreational facilities in large amusement parks were decorated with lanterns, they became vibrant immediately. The lantern show themed Frozen, a Disney film displayed through lanterns based on film scenes. Princess Elsa and other film roles interacted with visitors. Those exhibitions in Huston and other American cities were mainly participated by lantern manufacturers from Zigong, China. Since 2015, 10 rounds of "Magical Winter Lights" have been held in Houston. The exhibition area is rated as the best scenic spot by local authorities and the opening day is named the "Lantern Day" locally.

　　Zigong accounts for 82% of China's lantern market and over 90% of the global lantern market. At the beginning of 2020, China's first special fund in lantern industry was established in Zigong. With the initial capital of 100 million yuan, the fund aims to integrate lantern resources to enhance the scale, professionalism, efficiency and standardization of the lantern industry and promote the exporting of traditional cultural industries.

　　New fields in traditional industries--High-end equipment manufacturers target digital technology services

　　Dongfang Turbine connected the first exported 100MW ultra-high-temperature, sub-critical and reheat-type coal gas turbine to the grid in Indonesia and started the flow reconstruction of 350MW super-critical turbines. As one of China's largest power generation equipment manufacturers, it is penetrating a brand new field of digital technology and clean energy equipment reconstruction services.

Dongfang Turbine masters mature generation technologies concerning waste biomass and solar power, and boasts a solid market foundation.

On the other hand, its advanced technologies and full-life-cycle service system can be used to upgrade old equipment and transform energy equipment of other brands." Xiong Yuanjian said.

"Dongfang Turbine needed to offer on-the-spot equipment repair and maintenance services to clients in the past. With the enhancement of its digital capability, it has started to offer VR-based remote technical support to domestic and foreign clients. It offers real-time warning, turbine health evaluation and other digital technology services to users through smart power station and remote diagnosis technologies." Xiong Yuanjian said. At present, the installed power generation capacity exceeds 2 billion kilowatts in China and exceeds 6 billion kilowatts around the world. Most turbines can be upgraded. According to conservative estimation, the size of the global high-end environment-friendly power generation equipment market will remain over 10 billion yuan in the next 10 years.
