On July 11, the Sichuan Provincial Bureau of Economic Cooperation held a press conference for the 2022 Well-known Chinese and Foreign Enterprises' Visit to Sichuan Season. It announced that approved by the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and the People's Government of Sichuan Province, the event will be held from mid-July to mid-October in the form of "event season" for the first time. People's Government of Sichuan Province is the sponsor, the Sichuan Provincial Bureau of Economic Cooperation the leader, and the Sichuan Provincial Development and Reform Commission, Sichuan Provincial Economic and Information Department, and Sichuan Provincial Federation of Industry and Commerce co-undertakers. 

Well-known Chinese and Foreign Enterprises' Visit to Sichuan, celebrated for eight years, is a vital platform for the opening-up of Sichuan. This year, the three-month event will begin on July 15 and end in mid-October, with the Investment Promotion of 2022 Well-known Chinese and Foreign Enterprises' Visit to Sichuan & Release of List of Investment Opportunities in Sichuan as the starter. Compared with previous editions, this year's event has three features: 

First, it is more practical. The organization of the event will be flexible, incorporating small-scale activities held both online and offline at different times. On July 15, the first day of the event, the province is expected to put on three activities, including 2022 Well-known Chinese and Foreign Enterprises' Visit to Sichuan & Release of List of Investment Opportunities in Sichuan, 2022 China (Sichuan) Advanced Materials Industry Cooperation Promotion Meeting, and Symposium on Investment of Multinational Enterprises in Sichuan. During the event season, activities are going to be held to connect well-known enterprises, business associations, and chambers of commerce with Sichuan contingent on the status quo of COVID-19 prevention and control. The aim is to organize activities and sign major projects when the time is ripe. 

Second, it is more targeted. The event highlights targeted investment attraction and emphasizes the importance to put efforts into the right fields. Precisely, it will focus on improving the province's modern industry system and promoting a new type of industrialization. With "investment attraction for major industrialized projects" as the priority, relevant parties will endeavor to complete specific subtasks. For instance, the event is slated to intensify the efforts to attract high-grade, precision, advanced, and specialized enterprises and foreign enterprises, host an array of matchmaking, communication, and inspection activities, and introduce leading enterprises in industrial chains, single-product champion enterprises, and foreign-invested projects with bases and headquarters in Sichuan. For targeted industrial promotion, the event is expected to cooperate with relevant provincial departments, state-owned enterprises of Sichuan, colleges and universities, associations of major industries, and relevant cities (prefectures), to carry out New Energy and Intelligent Connected Vehicle Industry Investment and Cooperation Matchmaking Meeting, Biomedical Industry Innovative Cooperation Matchmaking, and other activities. With such efforts, professional and targeted investment attraction can be achieved. Besides, there will be "Multinational Enterprises with Sichuan" by countries, to encourage foreign-funded enterprises to invest or increase investment in the province. 

Third, it is more diverse. At the stage of merchant invitation, the event will invite the main leaders of well-known enterprises, business associations, and chambers of commerce, which have major projects under negotiation or intention to invest or increase investment in Sichuan, in batches. At the stage of project signing, the event looks forward to coordinating cities (prefectures) to work on investment promotion. Leaving aside the collective signing ceremony, major industrialized projects will be signed and exhibited individually, and cooperative achievements will be released and demonstrated after the event season.
